This position is responsible for performing professional-level tasks in support of MDT's Data & Analytics Bureau functions. Tasks include researching compliance with federal and state laws for plans, programs, and projects; research, analysis, and interpretation of federal and state laws, guidelines, and agency policies and procedures; collecting and analyzing transportation-related data; program and project development, management, tracking, monitoring, and documenting; performing analysis using a variety of data sources; inter-agency and external coordination; and performing a variety of other duties as assigned.

Are you someone who loves working with people and has a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy ensuring information is accurate and helps make important decisions? This isn't just a desk job; it's a chance to play a vital role in how Montana's roads are managed and improved, directly impacting our agency and securing essential funding for our state's transportation future.

What You'll Do:
As our HPMS Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of managing crucial information about Montana's public roads. Your main goal will be to ensure that our roadway data is accurate, up-to-date, and ready for use.
•    Connect and Collaborate: A big part of this role involves working with many different people! You'll be a central point of contact, collaborating closely with various teams within MDT, as well as with our federal partners. Your excellent people and team skills will help you gather the information we need and ensure everyone is on the same page.
•    Be a Data Detective: You'll meticulously collect, check, and organize a wide variety of information about our roads – from their condition to how many vehicles use them. Your sharp attention to detail will be key to making sure every piece of information is correct.
•    Support Big Decisions: The accurate information you manage directly helps MDT make smart choices about where to invest in road improvements, how to keep our roads safe, and how to secure federal funding that keeps our transportation system strong. You'll be contributing to plans that shape Montana's future.
•    Organize and Report: You'll help prepare important reports that share our roadway information with federal agencies, ensuring we meet all necessary guidelines. This involves organizing data clearly and concisely.

We're seeking a candidate who is:
•    A People Person: You genuinely enjoy working with others, building relationships, and communicating clearly, both in writing and verbally. You're comfortable reaching out to different groups and working together to achieve common goals.
•    Meticulously Detailed: You have an exceptional eye for accuracy and take pride in ensuring information is precise. You're the kind of person who notices the small things that others might miss.
•    A Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to a shared mission.
•    Organized and Thorough: You can manage multiple pieces of information, keep track of details, and ensure everything is in the right place.
•    Comfortable with Information: While you don't need to be a coding expert, you should be comfortable working with digital information, using computer systems including Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), and learning new tools to manage and analyze data.
•    A Problem-Solver: You enjoy figuring out things and finding solutions when information doesn't quite add up.
•    Committed to Public Service: You want your work to make a real difference for the people of Montana.
