How does JobMinglr view privacy?

JobMinglr values each user's privacy. We have invested significant resources into building a global privacy framework that incorporates privacy-by-design into our product development lifecycle and affords all users the same rights to access and delete their personal data. Our Privacy Policy and Privacy Center provide a comprehensive look into the types of information we collect and how we use and disclose this information to deliver our products and services globally.

How does JobMinglr process user data?

JobMinglr's Privacy Policy details the ways in which we process personal data and the purposes of such processing. This includes using data to improve JobMinglr products, determine user preferences, detect fraudulent activity, and for certain marketing purposes.

How does JobMinglr share user data with its affiliates?

What is the GDPR?

On May 25, 2018, the European Union (EU) introduced the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), establishing a comprehensive framework for protecting individuals' personal data by defining individual rights and obligations for businesses around transparency, security, and accountability in all processing of personal data.

What is JobMinglr doing to comply with GDPR?

The GDPR introduced stronger rights and protections for individuals and created new obligations for businesses in terms of processing personal data. JobMinglr has made changes in accordance with GDPR principles, including:

  • Increasing transparency and communication with users
  • Facilitating individuals' rights to access and delete their personal data
  • Applying privacy-by-design and default in how we build and operate our products and services

What is the CCPA and CPRA?

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), introduced on January 1, 2020, delivers a new standard of transparency for businesses collecting California residents' personal data. The California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), which took effect on January 1, 2023, expands consumer rights and business obligations under the CCPA.

What is JobMinglr doing to comply with the CCPA?

JobMinglr has implemented measures to comply with the CCPA, including:

  • Enhancing the transparency of our Privacy Policy
  • Launching a Privacy Center to help users understand data relationships
  • Expanding our consumer rights request infrastructure
  • Integrating links to the "Your Privacy Choices" page to reflect the CCPA's approach to defining and regulating data "sale" and "share" and the use of "sensitive personal information"

What is the LGPD?

The Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD) is a Brazilian privacy law regulating the processing of personal information. It applies to data collected or processed within Brazil or processed to offer goods or services to individuals in Brazil.

What is JobMinglr doing to comply with the LGPD?

JobMinglr takes a global approach to protecting user privacy and rights under laws like the LGPD. We have measures in place to ensure transparency and compliance, including appointing a Data Protection Officer (DPO).

How does JobMinglr manage transfers of personal data from Europe?

JobMinglr uses lawful transfer mechanisms pursuant to GDPR for transfers of personal data from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland. This includes the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

What information does JobMinglr transfer to third parties?

JobMinglr may use third parties to perform services in connection with our operations, improve the Site, and optimize user experiences. These service providers may have access to personal data during these services, and transfers are only made for necessary purposes, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.

What information is shared with third parties when the JobMinglr App is installed?

Limited user data, such as IP addresses or unique identifiers, may be shared with service providers to support services and ad attribution when you install, download, or use the JobMinglr App.

What is the conversion tracker?

The conversion tracker is a tool provided to employers to track job seeker applications originating from JobMinglr. It helps attribute applications to JobMinglr, despite any intervening activity, by notifying JobMinglr when a job seeker applies.

How do individuals make a personal data access request?

JobMinglr users can access most of their personal data held by JobMinglr on the Site. For formal requests to access personal data, please follow the process detailed in our Privacy Policy.

How do individuals make a personal data deletion request?

Users can edit and update most of their personal data on the Site. For formal deletion requests, please follow the process detailed in our Privacy Policy.

How can individuals avail of the other rights provided under GDPR?

Users can request to rectify their personal data or restrict or object to processing by following the instructions in our Privacy Policy.

How do I unsubscribe from any marketing messages from JobMinglr?

To opt out of marketing emails, click "unsubscribe" in the email or adjust your job alert subscriptions in your account dashboard. You can also send an email to privacy@jobminglr.com detailing your request.

How long does JobMinglr retain personal data?

JobMinglr retains personal data as necessary for the purposes communicated in our Privacy Policy or as required by law. Once personal data is no longer needed, it is deleted, subject to applicable legal requirements.

What security measures are adopted by JobMinglr?

JobMinglr employs reasonable security measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, and loss. We use data transfer agreements that comply with GDPR protections for data transfers.

What is a Not Searchable resume?

Not Searchable resumes are only available to those you have submitted an application to or provided your resume. Such resumes may still be copied by third parties.

What is a Searchable resume?

Searchable resumes are visible to anyone accessing our site, including employers and third parties. This visibility helps job seekers find jobs. You can change your resume privacy settings in your account.

How do I change my resume privacy settings?

You can adjust your resume privacy settings in your JobMinglr account. Changing your resume to private may take a few days to complete.

What are resume review services?

JobMinglr offers resume review services to help job seekers build and improve their resumes. Feedback provided is for your personal use and not made available to employers.

Does JobMinglr comply with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25)?

Yes. JobMinglr complies with the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25 / Bill 64), which has been fully in force since September 2023. Our Canadian compliance measures include:

  • Designating a Privacy Officer responsible for PIPEDA and provincial law compliance
  • Providing Quebec residents the right to de-indexing and data portability
  • Notifying the Commission d'accès à l'information (CAI) and affected users of privacy incidents within 72 hours
  • Conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for high-risk data processing activities

Does JobMinglr comply with Australian privacy law?

Yes. JobMinglr complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Key aspects of our Australian compliance include:

  • Notifying users of the purpose for which their data is collected at or before the time of collection
  • Providing an easy mechanism to opt out of direct marketing
  • Notifying the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals of eligible data breaches under the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme within 30 days
  • Taking reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients of your data provide equivalent privacy protections

Australian users may submit privacy complaints to us first. If unsatisfied, you may escalate to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.

Does JobMinglr comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act 2023)?

Yes. JobMinglr complies with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. As a Data Fiduciary processing personal data of individuals in India, we:

  • Process personal data only with your free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent
  • Require verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing data of individuals under 18
  • Honor your rights as a Data Principal: access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination
  • Provide a Grievance Officer reachable at privacy@jobminglr.com who will acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days
  • Transfer personal data outside India only to permitted countries in accordance with applicable rules

What is the age requirement to use JobMinglr?

JobMinglr requires users to be at least 18 years old globally. In the United States, we also comply with COPPA for users under 13. In India, the DPDP Act 2023 requires verifiable parental or guardian consent for anyone under 18 — consistent with our global 18+ requirement. If we discover a user is below the applicable age threshold, we will delete their data promptly.

JobMinglr adheres to international privacy rules and invests significant resources to protect user data, maintaining the trust of job seekers and employers. Our Privacy Policy describes our data protection efforts.
