About this role
SonicWall is looking for a hands-on engineering manager to lead a team building next-generation firewall and network security components. You'll own both technical direction and people leadership—managing a mixed-level team through sprint execution, architecture decisions, and production troubleshooting while balancing delivery timelines with long-term code quality. This role requires deep expertise in C/C++ systems programming for Linux environments, combined with 2–3+ years of direct team management experience in a cybersecurity product setting.
The position demands advanced technical depth across the full security stack: stateful firewalling, packet inspection, cryptographic protocols (SSL/TLS, PKI), identity federation (SAML, OAuth, RADIUS), and vulnerability remediation. You'll need to design and guide implementation of NGFW configuration frameworks, service APIs, and CLI engines while troubleshooting complex system failures using tools like GDB and Wireshark. Equally important is your ability to hire, develop, and hold your team accountable while collaborating with architects, QA, DevOps, and product management to align priorities and ensure release readiness.
This is a hybrid role based in Pune, suited to someone with 12+ years of C/C++ networking and firewall security experience who thrives in both hands-on technical work and people management.
