About this role
Ascension's Patient Technology Coordinator role in Austin combines clinical program development with hands-on technology management in a pediatric setting. You would deliver therapeutic interventions through gaming and VR to help young patients cope and engage with their care across 130 patient rooms, while also maintaining the Xbox systems, gaming equipment, and emerging platforms that make this possible. The work bridges direct patient support and operational responsibility—developing care initiatives that improve outcomes while ensuring the technology infrastructure runs smoothly.
The position suits someone with experience in therapeutic gaming environments or clinical support, though a high school diploma plus one year of relevant job experience meets the baseline requirement. A background as a Licensed Counselor specializing in chemical dependency is preferred, and any demonstrated comfort using technology in patient care is valuable. You'd be working in-office at an Ascension facility, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to strengthen both patient safety and program quality.
