Description
Who We Are
Verkada is transforming how organizations protect their people and places with an integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform that includes solutions for video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management.
We’ve got serious momentum in the market: more than 30,000 customers (including 100+ of the Fortune 500), a $5.8B valuation, more than $1 billion in annualized bookings, and backing from CapitalG, Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst, Felicis Ventures, Next47 and more. Physical AI is one of the most consequential technology shifts of our time, and Verkada is at the center of it.
You can look at all kinds of communities to see our platform’s impact in the world. It's the retailer that uses our agentic AI to deter theft before it happens. The warehouse that uses AI-powered alerts to make sure its team is protected on the floor with proper PPE. About this role
Verkada is building out its Tokyo office and seeking a Technical Support Engineer who can serve as the first line of expert troubleshooting for enterprise customers across their full platform—video security, access control, sensors, alarms, and more. You'll own complex issues from start to finish, diving into customer environments to diagnose problems spanning network, hardware, software, and electrical systems. The role demands fluency in both Japanese and English at a near-native level, as you'll communicate technical concepts clearly to customers, partners, and internal teams in both languages.
The ideal candidate has at least a year of hands-on experience in technical support, networking, or IT, plus a degree in a related technical field. You'll need solid foundational knowledge of networking protocols and infrastructure—TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, firewalls, PoE, and the like. Beyond troubleshooting, you'll collaborate with Engineering and Product to identify bugs, write technical documentation, and help scale processes as the team grows. Experience with Linux, APIs, Python, or relevant certifications like CCNA or Security+ would strengthen your candidacy.
This is a full-time, in-office role in Tokyo requiring five days per week on-site. Verkada offers comprehensive benefits including healthcare, paid parental leave, professional development support, daily lunches, and visa sponsorship for qualified candidates.
