About this role
Ascension's Surgical Services Coordinator role in Jacksonville manages the operational backbone of surgical departments—scheduling staff, allocating resources, and ensuring compliance with policies across shifts. You'll serve as a go-to resource for surgical teams, monitor workload progress, oversee equipment and supply maintenance, and guide the orientation and training of new associates. The position also involves evaluating staff performance and contributing to personnel decisions.
The role requires either a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience, an associate or technical degree, or four years of directly applicable surgical services experience. While no credentials are mandatory, BLS certification and specialized credentials like Surgical Tech (NBSTSA), Central Service Tech (HSPA), or Registered Nurse status are preferred and would strengthen your candidacy. This is a full-time, in-office position suited to someone with operational and supervisory experience in a healthcare surgical environment who can balance scheduling logistics, compliance oversight, and staff development.
