Description

πŸ“ North Shore Pediatric Therapy β€” 1657 W Cortland Street, Chicago, IL (Bucktown)
πŸ’΅ $18/hour to start. $20/hour once RBT certified (paid training)
πŸ•’ Multiple schedules available β€” mornings, afternoons, and Saturdays

This is an entry-level ABA therapy position at North Shore Pediatric Therapy. No prior clinical experience required. We're hiring for both full-time and part-time roles, and we will train you, pay for your RBT certification, and give you real mentorship from day one.

What we need is someone who is good with kids, stays calm when things get hard, and wants to build something β€” a career in behavioral health, child psychology, ABA, special education, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology.

What a Behavior Technician Does

As a Behavior Technician (BT) at North Shore Pediatric Therapy, you work 1:1 with autistic children ages 2–12. You implement therapy plans built by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and show up consistently, session after session, as a steady, supportive presence in each child's day.

You'll spend the vast majority of your day with kids. You'll be on your feet. You'll be engaged. You'll be the most consistent adult in some of these kids' days, and that matters more than most job descriptions will tell you.

What We Do Differently

At North Shore Pediatric Therapy, we practice assent-based, neuroaffirming care β€” which means we follow each child's lead, honor their boundaries, and build trust before we build skills. You'll work alongside occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and mental health professionals in a genuinely interdisciplinary environment.

Available Schedules

We have two tracks open at our Bucktown location. Both start at $18/hour with the same RBT certification path.

Full-Time:

  • Monday–Friday, 8am or 9am start
  • Full benefits package (see below)

  • Performance-based raises every 6 months
  • $500+ referral bonus when someone you refer gets hired

About this role

North Shore Pediatric Therapy is hiring entry-level Behavior Technicians to work one-on-one with autistic children ages 2–12 in their Bucktown clinic. You'll implement therapy plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, showing up as a consistent, steady presence in each child's day. The role is hands-onβ€”you'll be on your feet, engaged directly with kids for most of your shift. No prior clinical experience is required; what matters is genuine comfort with children, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and a willingness to learn.

The company will pay for your RBT certification during your first month, raising your pay from $19 to $22.50 per hour once certified. They emphasize assent-based, neuroaffirming care and work in an interdisciplinary team alongside occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and mental health professionals. Flexible scheduling is available: full-time Monday–Friday with a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k match, 22+ paid days off annually), or part-time with a 15-hour minimum, including Saturday shifts, suited for students or career changers.

You'll need a high school diploma or GED, authorization to work in the US, and the ability to lift up to 45 pounds and actively engage physically with children. Prior experience with kidsβ€”whether babysitting, coaching, tutoring, or classroom workβ€”is valued. If you're exploring a career in ABA, behavioral health, child psychology, special education, or related fields, this role offers clear growth pathways and paid professional development.
