About this role
Holder Construction is looking for someone to be the face of their data center project in Richmond—serving as the main point of contact between the active construction site and the local community. You'd coordinate everything from groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings to site tours and neighborhood meetings, while also managing the logistics that make those events run smoothly. This is a hands-on role that requires comfort working on an active jobsite and the ability to represent a major construction project to civic groups, local businesses, schools, and residents.
The position sits at the intersection of community relations and project operations. You'll prepare materials and talking points, track outreach efforts, help local businesses connect with project opportunities, and keep internal teams aligned on messaging and branding. It's as much about documentation and coordination as it is about relationship-building—you'll be organizing records, preparing reports for leadership, and supporting everything from intern orientations to workforce events.
This internship suits someone with two to five years of experience in community relations, event coordination, or communications who is organized, independent, and genuinely comfortable with people. Construction or infrastructure project experience is a plus but not required. You'll need to be flexible enough to support broader team needs as they come up, and comfortable working in a construction environment while maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders.
