About this role
Blockchain.com's Market Making desk in London is seeking a trader who can operate at the intersection of strategy development, quantitative analysis, and business development. You'd manage and refine automated liquidity strategies while working directly with clients and the sales team to identify opportunities and drive new business. The role demands someone equally comfortable analyzing market conditions and tuning trading parameters as they are writing code and building infrastructure—this isn't a pure execution seat or a pure research role, but a hybrid that requires both technical depth and commercial awareness.
You'll need 2–5 years of experience in market making, quantitative trading, or institutional trading desks, ideally with crypto exposure. The technical bar is real: proficiency in Python, Rust, SQL, or AI tooling is essential, not optional. Beyond that, you should have a strong grasp of financial markets, DeFi mechanics, and crypto-specific structures like token generation events and listings. The mindset matters as much as the credentials—this is a fast-paced, intense environment where you'll be expected to move quickly and think commercially about the desk's growth.
The position is based in London with a mandatory four-day in-office requirement, though you can work remotely up to 20 days annually from anywhere. Compensation includes a salary scaled to experience, meaningful equity, Apple equipment, and unlimited vacation. This is a chance to build your career at a major crypto platform during a period of significant expansion.
