About this role

Luminis Health's bariatric surgery center in Lanham is seeking a coordinator to manage the full patient journey from initial consultation through post-operative follow-up. You'd handle a mix of clinical support, administrative work, and financial coordination in a high-volume setting—scheduling surgeries, securing insurance authorizations and appeals, educating patients on pre- and post-operative requirements, and leading community outreach through seminars and support groups. The role demands comfort with direct patient interaction, attention to detail in documentation and data management, and the ability to juggle competing priorities across multiple departments and insurance companies.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of medical clerical experience. You should be organized, responsive to patient needs, and capable of gathering clinical information from various sources and interpreting routine data. The work is full-time and in-office, with medium physical demands and potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Luminis Health offers standard benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, a retirement plan with employer match, tuition assistance, and wellness programs for full-time employees.
