About this role

Pivotal Solutions is seeking a senior network and systems administrator to manage infrastructure across multiple platforms and locations in a hybrid Seattle-based role. You'd own the full lifecycle of network and systems administration—from planning and implementing cloud and on-premises infrastructure to securing it, monitoring it, and keeping it running reliably. This includes managing backups and disaster recovery, troubleshooting outages, and handling preventative maintenance across Windows, Linux, and Mac environments. You'll also research and implement system enhancements that support business needs and work with other departments to understand their IT requirements.

The role demands five years of hands-on experience in network and systems administration, with expert-level knowledge of TCP/IP and networking concepts. You'll need strong skills in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, CMD), Windows Server administration including Active Directory and Exchange, Linux systems, and cloud platforms—particularly Azure and AWS. Experience with security appliances like Sonicwall, Aruba, Fortinet, or Cisco is valued, as is familiarity with backup solutions, database-driven applications, and VoIP systems.

Beyond technical depth, you should be comfortable working under pressure, on-call shifts, and occasional travel to remote sites. The role includes physical demands like climbing, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working in varied environments. You'll collaborate with IT staff and vendors while staying current with emerging technologies and maintaining security compliance standards like PCI DSS.
