About this role
BGE, Inc. is looking for an experienced water and wastewater professional to serve as a Municipal Facility Operation Coordinator in their Houston office. You'll bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world utility operations, providing critical operational input on capital improvement programs, facility assessments, and construction projects for Municipal Utility Districts and public sector clients. This means reviewing engineering plans from an operator's perspective, troubleshooting system challenges, supporting startups and shutdowns, and ensuring that new infrastructure is designed for maintainability and reliability in the field.
The role demands hands-on experience operating and maintaining treatment facilities, lift stations, distribution and collection systems—and you'll need a current Class C or D license to qualify. You should be comfortable evaluating infrastructure projects through an operator's lens, communicating across multidisciplinary teams of engineers and contractors, and translating operational challenges into practical solutions during planning and construction phases. This is a position for someone who wants to mentor engineers and shape how facilities are designed and built, not just how they're operated after the fact.
BGE offers a solid benefits package including a 401(k) match with immediate vesting, comprehensive health coverage, merit-based bonuses, generous paid time off with unlimited sick days, and structured mentorship and career development programs. The role is full-time and in-office at their Westchase location in Houston.
