About this role

ExtraHop is hiring a Support Engineer I to join its Global Support Engineering team in Seattle on a hybrid schedule. This is a growth-oriented role for someone with at least two years of B2B technical support experience who wants to deepen their hands-on knowledge of networking infrastructure and security tools. You'll be the primary contact for customers troubleshooting issues with ExtraHop's network detection and response platform, handling everything from initial ticket intake to hardware deployment support, configuration assistance, and escalation to senior engineers when needed.

The role demands solid foundational networking knowledge—you'll need to understand the OSI model, routing and switching concepts, and specific protocols like TCP, DNS, DHCP, and TLS. You'll spend your days working through technical incidents, consulting internal documentation and knowledge bases, communicating with customers across multiple channels, and collaborating with experienced colleagues to resolve complex architectural problems. This is not an entry-level position; ExtraHop expects you to translate technical concepts into troubleshooting strategies and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The position runs 9am–6pm PST with a base rate of $28–$32 per hour plus bonus and benefits. Linux familiarity, cybersecurity certifications, and networking credentials are valued but not required. You'll attend limited in-office meetings (no more than monthly) and annual training sessions in Seattle.
