About this role

ConvenientMD's Patient Services Coordinator role is a hybrid position based in Portsmouth that sits at the intersection of customer service and healthcare operations. You'll be the primary contact for patients accessing virtual urgent care, handling everything from initial registration and insurance questions to payment collection and provider assignment. The work requires you to move fluidly between phone interactions, multiple software systems, and coordination with both remote providers and in-person clinic staff—all while maintaining accuracy and compassion in a high-volume environment.

This is an entry-level healthcare role suited for someone organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely comfortable with people. You'll need to be comfortable with 12-hour shifts across varying schedules (including nights, weekends, and holidays), proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom, and the ability to prioritize competing demands without losing sight of patient experience. The position demands both independence and strong collaboration skills, as you'll troubleshoot technical issues for providers, manage patient flow across virtual and in-person settings, and communicate proactively when problems arise.

The role offers a solid foundation for building a healthcare career, with a supportive team environment and modern office amenities in Portsmouth. At the $20–25 hourly range, it's positioned as an accessible entry point rather than a specialized clinical role, making it realistic for those transitioning into healthcare or looking to deepen customer service experience in a clinical setting.
