Our team of 500 plus professionals specializes in power trading, transforming complex data into market-leading trading strategies through advanced technology and sophisticated quantitative modelling.

We are looking for a curious and structured Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team in Berlin, supporting our direct marketing and flexibility portfolio and helping us connect renewable generation and flexible energy assets to electricity markets. You will work with customers and internal teams to onboard assets, monitor their operation, resolve performance issues, and keep asset data accurate. What would you work on?

  • Support asset onboarding and monitoring: Coordinate onboarding requirements, collect and validate technical information, and monitor asset availability, connectivity and operational performance.
  • Follow through on issues: Work with customers and internal teams to investigate issues affecting asset performance. Track actions and responsibilities, keep stakeholders informed, and follow up until resolution.
  • Co-own asset data: Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date information in our asset management system together with the relevant teams.
  • Cooperate on market communication: Handle asset-related market communication with authorities (DSOs, TSOs), track deadlines and responses, and coordinate the resolution of discrepancies with relevant market participants and internal colleagues.
  • Improve and automate processes: Identify recurring tasks and sources of error, contribute to better workflows and documentation, and cooperate on automation using data, software and AI tools.

What makes you a great candidate?

  • A university degree in a STEM discipline, such as engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics.
  • An interest in the energy industry and a willingness to learn how renewable generation, flexibility and electricity markets work.
  • Curiosity and an open mind: you enjoy understanding how systems work, investigating discrepancies, asking useful questions, and exploring new approaches.
  • A structured approach, attention to detail and the ability to manage several open topics through to completion.
  • Numerical literacy: you are comfortable with basic calculations and checking whether results make sense, and ready to develop an understanding of balancing costs, profit and loss (PnL) and their relationship to asset performance as you gain experience

  • Basic computer programming and data skills, particularly Python and SQL, and proficiency with standard office software.
  • An affinity for AI tools and an interest in applying them to everyday work, analysis and process automation, with a critical eye for the quality of their outputs.
  • Previous exposure to technical topics such as power plant connections, metering, SCADA, or remote control is a plus.

About this role

Second Foundation, an international energy trading firm, is seeking a Technical Sales Support Specialist to bridge customer needs and internal operations in their Berlin office. You would support the onboarding and monitoring of renewable energy and flexible assets connected to electricity markets, working directly with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure assets perform reliably and data stays accurate. The role combines operational coordination—validating technical information, investigating performance issues, managing communications with grid operators—with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to automate recurring tasks and streamline workflows.

This position suits someone with a STEM background who is genuinely curious about how energy systems and markets function. You'll need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort with numbers and basic data analysis; Python and SQL experience is expected, and familiarity with AI tools for automation is valued. Fluency in both English and German is essential. While prior exposure to power systems, metering, or market communication standards is a plus, the role prioritizes intellectual curiosity and a structured mindset over deep domain expertise—you should be someone who enjoys investigating how things work and asking the right questions.

The position is fully remote and offers competitive compensation with annual bonus potential, flexible hours, equipment choice, public transport coverage, meal vouchers, gym membership, and professional development opportunities.
