About this role

Celnor Group is seeking an experienced Water Network Technician to manage operational activities across water distribution networks in the South/Greater London area. You'll take ownership of complex tasks including mains isolations, asset diagnostics, water quality monitoring, and network investigations—all while ensuring safe delivery and zero supply interruption to customers. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities: you'll supervise contractors, mentor junior operatives and academy learners, and serve as a technical authority within the field workforce.

The position demands substantial existing expertise in water network operations, including proven experience with mains isolation, leakage detection, and network diagnostic equipment. You'll need current certifications (UK Driving Licence, DBS clearance, First Aid, EUSR National Water Hygiene, NRSWA Streetworks) plus a solid grasp of water quality principles and the ability to interpret network plans and GIS data. Strong communication skills and a track record of coaching colleagues are essential; desirable additions include confined space training, trunk main operations experience, and contractor management background.

Offered as a permanent full-time role with day or night shift options, the salary ranges from £32,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, with shift allowances and overtime opportunities included. This suits someone with several years of operational water network experience who's ready to step into a more autonomous, mentoring-focused position within a UK-based environmental services group committed to structured development and clear career progression.
