Description

Let’s be honest: families don’t remember the name of a scheduling system. They remember the person who made their week easier.

At North Shore Pediatric Therapy, that person is the Family Child Advocate (FCA) — the calm in the chaos, the voice of reassurance, the behind-the-scenes orchestrator ensuring every child gets the care they deserve and every clinician walks into a day that runs smoothly.

Here, FCAs are trusted partners to families, real-time problem solvers, and key players in providing the exceptional experience NSPT is known for. When a parent is overwhelmed, a child needs an urgent reschedule, or a clinic is juggling 30 moving pieces at once… you’re the one who turns stress into solutions.

This is a full-time, in-center position with a schedule of 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. You'll primarily work from our Chicago (Bucktown), IL location. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent in the community building relationships. Compensation ranges from $21-25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Why This Role Matters

Every hour of therapy counts — for a child learning to eat independently, say their sibling’s name, or build the confidence they’ve never had before. You make those moments possible by keeping schedules full, communication clear, and families supported.

Across our centers, our therapists, Clinical Directors, and families will tell you the same thing: “I don’t know what we’d do without our FCA.”

 Who Thrives in This Role

  • A natural helper who finds joy in making someone’s day smoother.
  • A multitasker who can juggle 10 moving pieces without losing the warmth in their voice.
  • A communicator who knows how to spin chaos into clarity.
  • A schedules-and-systems thinker who loves finding the fastest path to a solution.
  • A relationship-builder who wants families to feel seen, supported, and appreciated.

If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!

What You’ll Do

  • Turn cancellations into makeups and keep schedules running smoothly

  • Partner with leadership on simple, high-impact marketing efforts
  • Be the face of the center in the community

Why You’ll Love Working Here

You’re not just managing logistics — you’re shaping a family’s entire experience of therapy. You’ll join a supportive team, build real relationships with families, and play a vital part in helping kids access the care they need.

If you’re looking for a role where every day is meaningful and every detail matters, we’d love to talk.

About this role

North Shore Pediatric Therapy is looking for someone to be the operational and emotional backbone of their Chicago clinic—the person families remember not for managing a scheduling system, but for making their week manageable. As a Family Child Advocate, you'll split your time between in-center operations and community outreach, handling everything from real-time schedule adjustments and family support to coordinating tours, attending local events, and building the center's reputation. This role demands someone comfortable with controlled chaos: juggling urgent reschedules, clinic logistics, and relationship-building without losing sight of the human element underneath it all.

The day-to-day spans two distinct areas. On the operations side, you'll be the first point of contact for families navigating changes, coordinate with therapists and Clinical Directors to keep schedules full and clinics running, and handle the practical details that let therapy happen. The other half takes you into the community—supporting outreach to schools and local partners, hosting prospective family tours, driving online reviews and testimonials, and representing the center at events. You'll work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM in the Bucktown location, with roughly half your time spent outside the office building relationships.

This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys solving problems for others, thinks systematically about schedules and workflows, and finds meaning in supporting families through a vulnerable process. If you thrive on variety, communication, and knowing that your work directly enables children to access care they need, this could be a strong fit. The position is full-time at $21–$25 per hour based on experience.
