About this role
Thornbury Community Services is seeking a Support Worker to provide in-home care for a young adult with severe learning disabilities, autism, and anxiety in the Wolverhampton area. You'll be part of a small, consistent team of three support workers, which means you'll develop genuine, ongoing relationships with the person you support rather than rotating through different carers. The role centers on person-centered care delivered in the client's home—helping them participate in activities they enjoy like cooking, basketball, and community outings while maintaining their safety and promoting independence.
This position requires at least 12 months of UK community-based support experience and confidence in risk management and physical intervention where needed. You should be familiar with PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) standards and bring strong ethical values, resilience, and a real commitment to building long-term professional relationships. The role operates Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, on a full-time basis.
The pay ranges from £16.81 to £21.01 per hour (including holiday pay), and TCS covers travel and mileage expenses. You'll also have access to an Employee Assistance Programme, bespoke training, and career development opportunities. This role suits someone who finds genuine satisfaction in seeing the positive impact of consistent, relationship-based support over time.
