About this role
This full-time role at Rhode Island Children's Dentistry & Orthodontics is centered on managing the financial side of patient care—verifying insurance, explaining costs to families, collecting payments, and resolving billing issues. You'll be the bridge between the clinical team and patients, handling everything from benefits verification and treatment cost estimates to payment processing and insurance claims follow-up. The position requires strong attention to detail with patient financial records and HIPAA compliance, alongside genuine comfort discussing money matters with families in a way that's clear and empathetic.
Success in this role depends on being organized, detail-oriented, and confident in professional conversations about financial responsibilities. Prior experience in dental or healthcare financial coordination is preferred, as is familiarity with dental insurance and practice management software, though the core skills are customer service, communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy front office. You'll work in-office in East Greenwich and collaborate closely with both front office and clinical staff to ensure patients have a smooth experience.
The position includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), paid holidays, and paid time off. This is a good fit if you're organized, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in helping patients navigate healthcare finances while supporting a pediatric dental practice.
