About this role
# About This Role
This is a remote customer support position handling inbound calls for Upstream Rehabilitation's patient billing and insurance inquiries. You'll work in a high-volume call center environment answering patient questions, processing payments, setting up payment plans, and escalating complex issues to the accounts receivable team. The role requires you to balance multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and discretion—representing both the business office and the clinics patients interact with. You'll need a quiet, HIPAA-compliant home workspace and should be comfortable with routine check-ins and performance management.
The position calls for strong communication and active listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized under pressure. You'll need at least a high school diploma, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work the set shift of 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM EST. Prior call center or medical billing experience is valued but not required; what matters most is your ability to problem-solve quickly and represent the organization professionally. This role is full-time and remote, available only to candidates residing in the United States.
The salary is $15–$16 per hour. Upstream offers employer-paid medical insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, generous PTO, paid holidays, and an annual paid charity day. As part of a large national provider with over 1,200 locations, you'd have access to professional development and a collaborative corporate environment.
