WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work, and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.

About this role

Working onsite at Rocket Lab's Albuquerque facility, you'd serve as the senior IT support person for the SolAero office, partnering with the IT Client Services Lead and broader IT teams to keep operations running smoothly. This role combines hands-on technical work—managing support tickets, troubleshooting systems, and providing user guidance—with mentorship responsibilities and involvement in larger IT projects. You'd also support Launch and Mission Operations during active launch periods and may travel occasionally for mission-critical work.

The position calls for at least four years of IT support experience and solid operational knowledge across multiple technologies: Windows or Linux systems, PC hardware, networking fundamentals, scripting, Active Directory, and project management from planning through implementation. You should also be comfortable using AI tools to enhance service delivery. Experience in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing, cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, and virtualization would strengthen your candidacy. The role demands flexibility—you may work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.

This is a good fit if you're looking to deepen your technical expertise in a mission-driven environment where you can take ownership of complex work while supporting a team. Be aware that U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required due to ITAR regulations governing space technology.
