About this role

MEMX operates a US equities exchange, and this role sits at the operational nerve center during the overnight shift (9 PM to 6 AM ET, Sunday through Friday). You'd be the first line of support for exchange members—fielding calls, managing tickets, and troubleshooting trading and clearing systems in real time. The work demands quick thinking under pressure: you'll investigate issues using internal and external tools, coordinate across multiple teams to resolve problems, and keep systems monitored for anomalies. It's a blend of customer service, technical troubleshooting, and operational vigilance.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years at a trade desk or operations desk in a broker-dealer or exchange environment, with solid knowledge of US equity markets and market structure. You'll need hands-on experience with FIX and SBE protocols, comfort writing basic queries in SQL, Groovy, or Python, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills are essential—you'll be explaining complex issues to both clients and internal groups while staying calm in high-pressure moments. A willingness to pursue necessary licenses and adapt quickly in a changing environment rounds out what the role requires.

The position is in-office and based in one of MEMX's 17 US states (or you can propose an alternative location for evaluation). Compensation ranges from $95,000 to $120,000, with benefits including medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), unlimited PTO, paid family leave, and professional development support.
