What we’re looking for:
We are seeking an experienced security systems support specialist to join our fast-growing and dynamic team.
What you’ll be doing:
This position will have multiple roles ranging from: technical support for our technical workforce, overseeing large scale deployments with the operations team, onsite customer meetings to address complex customer needs, system programming, and network design. Some local travel to other offices and customer sites may be required.
What you bring to the table:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with configuring, installing, and maintaining:
- Enterprise-Level Access Control Systems.
- Genetec Omnicast and Honeywell Pro Watch certifications.
- Intrusion detection systems (IDS), both fiber and copper based.
- Enterprise-Level Video Management Systems (IP-based).
- Networking and IT knowledge.
- Superior problem solving and communication skills.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organization skills.
- Familiarization with local electronic security codes and industry standards.
- Understanding of basic SQL operations.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project and other Microsoft products.
Preferred
- Access Control System Vendor Certifications (some advanced certifications as well) in Software House CCure, Lenel, Software House, Genetec, ProWatch, and Avigilon.
- Video Management System Vendor Certifications in Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, Avigilon and/or Milestone.
- Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications in Bosch, DMP, Senstar and/or FFT.
- Experience in computer operating systems, network design and implementation.
- TWIC Cardholder.
- Individual Private Security License holder.

About this role
NextGen Security is looking for a seasoned systems support specialist to wear multiple hats across their Dallas operations. You'd split your time between providing technical support to internal teams, managing large-scale system deployments with operations, meeting with customers to solve complex problems, and handling system programming and network design work. The role requires local travel to other offices and customer sites, and you'll work in-office.
This position demands at least seven years of hands-on experience configuring and maintaining enterprise access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and IP-based video management platforms. You'll need Genetec Omnicast and Honeywell ProWatch certifications as baseline qualifications, plus solid networking and IT knowledge, SQL basics, and familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Project. The ideal candidate works independently with minimal supervision, has strong problem-solving and communication skills, and understands local electronic security codes and industry standards. Additional vendor certifications in access control, video management, or intrusion detection systems are preferred, as are TWIC card and private security license credentials.
