ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Rocket Lab is the end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems that keep the world connected, protected, expand humanity’s reach to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. We move fast, build real hardware for meaningful missions, and make the impossible routine. Come shape the future with us.

ABOUT SUPPLY CHAIN AT ROCKET LAB:

Rocket Lab’s Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success.

Make your next move with Rocket Lab, where precision, pace, and teamwork power every mission.

We’re looking for a highly organized, detail‑driven Inventory Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you’ll help keep thousands of components and hundreds of orders moving seamlessly to internal and external customers, ensuring our production teams have what they need, exactly when they need it. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love keeping things running smoothly, and enjoy being the go-to person for accurate, reliable inventory support  this role is for you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Receive and process inwards goods on a FIFO basis, following all SOPs.
• Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counting, investigations, and ERP updates.
• Keep the warehouse organised to 5S standards and ensure key processes remain in control.
• Deliver components, kits, Kanban materials, and raw materials to support production priorities.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch items efficiently while supporting operations with logistics runner tasks.
• Work cross-functionally to remove bottlenecks and support internal customers with professional service.
• Follow health & safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report incidents promptly.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within manufacturing.
• Confidence with ERP systems and the ability to learn new systems.
• Exceptional organisation skills, strong attention to detail, and a systematic approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• A proactive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude.

NICE TO HAVE:
• Experience in stores/inventory roles, including inwards/outwards goods.
• Hands-on stock management and quality control experience.
• Exposure to manufacturing, automotive, or aviation environments.

SCHEDULE:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week (10 hours/day, 4 days/week)

If the above sounds like you apply now!

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work, and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.

About this role

Rocket Lab's Supply Chain team keeps thousands of components flowing to production lines that build rockets and satellites for critical missions. As an Inventory Coordinator, you'd be the operational backbone of this effort—receiving and processing inbound goods, maintaining stock accuracy through cycle counts and ERP updates, and delivering components and kits to support daily production targets. You'd work a night shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:30 AM) in the Auckland warehouse, organizing inventory to 5S standards, picking and packing orders, and troubleshooting bottlenecks across internal teams.

This role suits someone with at least two years of manufacturing inventory or stores experience who is comfortable with ERP systems and thrives on precision and pace. You'll need strong organizational skills, the ability to manage shifting priorities under tight deadlines, and a proactive, customer-focused approach to supporting production teams. Experience in inwards and outwards goods handling, quality control, or exposure to manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments would be valuable. The work is hands-on and independent, but success depends on cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.

Note that this position requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or eligible authorization status due to ITAR regulations governing space technology. New Zealand applicants should expect background checks prior to any offer.
