About this role

Holder Construction's PDS team in Dallas is seeking a Design Coordinator to bridge design and construction on complex, large-scale commercial projects. You'd manage the design process across all phases, review and coordinate drawings and specifications, conduct quality reviews across disciplines, and identify and resolve challenges as they arise. The role requires you to bring constructability expertise to design decisions, interpret contract documents, and communicate effectively between teams—working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You'll also mentor junior associates as part of the position.

This contract role is best suited for someone with a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field and solid experience managing substantial commercial projects. You'll need to read and interpret construction drawings fluently and understand different project delivery methods and their associated risks. While five years in the A/E industry or related fields is preferred, along with an active architecture license and familiarity with contract documents, the core requirement is the ability to work with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly across disciplines. Experience with aviation projects is a plus.

Holder Construction offers competitive compensation, an annual bonus program, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The company is known for merit-based advancement and structured career development, so strong performance in this role could lead to expanded responsibilities. Note that the position requires in-office work in Dallas, substance abuse testing, and background screening as conditions of employment.
