Description

Insurance plays an important role in people’s lives, providing protection and peace of mind through life’s adventures and unexpected turns. In the moments that matter, people want to know their insurer is there for them. At Hi Marley, we help insurers deliver on that promise through communication that brings greater clarity and connection to the policyholder experience.

About the role

You'll be the person who knows how our customers really use Hi Marley, and who turns that knowledge into better decisions across the company. You'll join a growing Analytics team with shared standards, tools, and a career path, and partner most closely with Product and Customer Success on a modern data stack (Redshift, dbt, and Dagster). This isn't a reporting queue. You'll take a business question from the first conversation to an answer, and sometimes present that answer straight to a customer. If an ambiguous question and a fresh dataset sound like a good afternoon, you'll love this role.

Teamwork and shared enthusiasm are a core part of our culture, which is why this role involves joining us in the Boston office for 3 days each week.

What you'll do

  • Become our go-to expert on how customers use Hi Marley, and help teams across the company act on what you learn
  • Partner with Product to define success metrics for new and existing features, then analyze adoption and funnels and recommend what's next
  • Measure customer pilots and utilization with Customer Success and Growth, and present the readouts directly to customers to prove value
  • Move the reporting our customer team relies on to self-serve on one trusted set of metrics, and give Data Engineering clear requirements so your analyses become governed data models

About you

  • You have 7+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ in analytics or data analysis, with strong SQL and a modern BI tool like Looker
  • You have a track record of defining metrics tied to real business decisions, using data to change minds, and partnering with data engineers on how data is modeled
  • You can explain what the data means to a customer or an executive in plain language, and you raise hard news, like a data-quality issue, with a path forward

Nice to have

  • Experience at a B2B SaaS or other growth-stage company
  • Product analytics experience, including feature usage, funnels, and A/B tests
  • Hands-on work with a cloud data warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery), dbt, Python, or an orchestrator like Dagster or Airflow

Don't check every box? If this role excites you, we'd still love to hear from you.

About this role

Hi Marley's platform helps insurance companies strengthen their relationships with policyholders through better communication. As Senior Data Analyst, you'd be the person who understands how customers actually use the product and translates that insight into decisions across Product, Customer Success, and Growth teams. This role moves beyond routine reporting—you'll own questions from initial conversation through analysis and presentation, sometimes directly to customers. You'll work with a modern data stack (Redshift, dbt, Dagster) and help move the team toward self-serve analytics built on trusted, governed metrics.

The work spans defining success metrics for new features, analyzing adoption and funnels, measuring customer pilots, and presenting findings to prove value. You'll partner closely with data engineers to ensure your analyses become sustainable data models. The role requires 7+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 in analytics, strong SQL skills, and fluency with a modern BI tool like Looker. You should have a track record of tying metrics to business decisions and explaining data clearly to both customers and executives—including delivering difficult news with a constructive path forward.

This is a hybrid position based in Boston (3 days per week in office) with a base salary of $111,300–$170,500 depending on experience. The package includes equity grants, a 4% 401(k) match, comprehensive health coverage, wellness and professional development stipends, paid parental leave, and flexible time off. Prior experience at B2B SaaS companies or with product analytics, cloud data warehouses, dbt, Python, or orchestration tools would strengthen your candidacy, though the team welcomes applicants who are excited about the role even if they don't check every box.
