About this role

GovTech's Digital Excellence & Products Division within the Ministry of Education is building data infrastructure to power the education sector's digital transformation. In this Software Engineering role, you would own end-to-end data systems and architecture—spanning databases, backend services, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure—while partnering with policy teams, product managers, and data scientists to translate MOE's data and AI ambitions into working platforms.

The work sits at the intersection of technology and education policy. You'd develop data pipelines, manage databases and analytics tools, and build scalable cloud applications that serve real users across MOE. This requires full-stack capability on modern cloud platforms, hands-on experience with data architecture and ML tooling, and the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Frontend experience is valued but not required.

You'll need a degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience, plus a track record building data systems with attention to scalability and security. The role is in-office in Singapore and suits someone drawn to public sector work, particularly in education, who wants to combine technical depth with tangible impact on how government serves citizens.

Pay for this role

The employer didn't post a pay range for this role. That usually means pay is set in negotiation, which favors whoever arrives with numbers. Check ranges on comparable Software Engineering, Ministry of Education (Data Programme) postings in your area, and analyze any offer before you accept it.
