About this role
Emerson is building a connected data ecosystem for smart manufacturing, and this role sits at the center of that effort. As a Senior MES Data Engineer, you would design and maintain the data pipelines and models that integrate manufacturing execution systems, enterprise applications, equipment, and analytics platforms—turning raw manufacturing events into reliable insights that drive production decisions. You'll work with DELMIA Apriso and related systems to ensure data flows seamlessly across quality, traceability, equipment performance, and operational reporting, while also owning data quality frameworks, monitoring, and troubleshooting when integration issues arise.
This is a technical leadership position within a global matrix organization. You'll partner with manufacturing sites, IT teams, analytics groups, and external vendors to translate business requirements into scalable solutions, lead integration testing and deployments, and apply software engineering practices like version control and CI/CD. The role demands both hands-on data engineering—SQL, APIs, data modeling, ETL processes—and the ability to influence architecture decisions and mentor others on manufacturing data best practices.
You'll need at least five years in data engineering, manufacturing systems, or systems integration, ideally with MES/MOM platform experience. A technical degree and strong foundation in SQL, relational databases, and end-to-end data architecture are essential. Experience with DELMIA Apriso, Python, data modeling tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies would strengthen your candidacy. The position is based in Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, and requires in-office presence.
