About this role

Graphcore's Validation Chief of Staff role sits at the intersection of technical depth and operational leadership within a company building next-generation AI compute hardware. Based in Austin and reporting to senior leadership in Architecture and Validation, you would coordinate execution across multiple validation teams responsible for silicon bring-up, system integration, and production readiness. This is fundamentally an operational role—driving visibility into project status, managing dependencies between validation and cross-functional engineering teams, and helping scale processes and infrastructure across geographically distributed sites.

The position demands someone with genuine silicon validation or post-silicon bring-up experience who understands the full hardware-software development lifecycle for complex products. You'll need strong analytical skills to surface technical risks and execution readiness, combined with exceptional communication abilities to work across architecture, silicon, firmware, software and systems engineering disciplines. The work involves creating reporting frameworks, facilitating technical reviews, managing escalations, and providing structured recommendations to leadership—all while maintaining operational coordination across multiple priorities and locations.

This role suits someone who thrives in technically complex environments but is energized by organizational effectiveness and cross-team alignment rather than individual technical contribution. You should be comfortable with Linux, Python, and standard engineering collaboration tools, and prepared for up to 25% travel to support engineering sites. It's a role that requires independence and judgment in a fast-moving environment where your ability to improve processes and communication directly impacts how well distributed teams execute.
