About this role

GitLab is seeking an Account Executive focused on the Canadian public sector—provincial and municipal governments, plus post-secondary institutions—to drive adoption of its DevSecOps platform. You'll own a defined territory and manage the full sales cycle for strategic accounts, from prospecting through expansion, while navigating the distinct procurement processes and compliance requirements that characterize government buying. The role demands deep familiarity with how public sector organizations approach software modernization, CI/CD automation, and secure development in regulated environments.

Your success will depend on consultative selling skills and the ability to position technology as a mission enabler rather than a product. You'll work closely with pre-sales engineers, customer success teams, and channel partners—system integrators and resellers—to shape multi-year roadmaps with CIOs and technical leaders. This is fundamentally about understanding public sector priorities and building trust across complex stakeholder environments, then translating that into outcomes that matter to government operations.

The position is fully remote and based in Canada. GitLab offers flexible paid time off, equity compensation, professional development funding, and standard benefits. The company explicitly welcomes candidates whose experience may not check every box, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
