About this role
Farnsworth Group is looking for a mechanical engineer with 5–8+ years of experience to design HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and ventilation systems across healthcare, commercial, industrial, government, and educational facilities. You'll take ownership of technical design tasks—producing calculations, drawings, and specifications—while coordinating with architects, structural engineers, electrical teams, and other disciplines. The role includes client meetings, design reviews, field support, and construction administration, so you'll need strong communication and collaboration skills alongside proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
This position suits someone who can work independently on complex mechanical systems while also mentoring junior staff and troubleshooting technical challenges. A PE license is valued but not required. The hybrid arrangement and Farnsworth Group's eleven-year Great Place to Work certification suggest a culture that prioritizes professional development, work-life balance, and employee growth. If you have solid experience with building systems design and want to contribute to meaningful projects across multiple sectors, this is worth exploring.
