About this role

Ezra is building digital lending solutions across emerging markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, and this role offers the chance to drive commercial expansion across the APAC region. As Business Development Director, you would own the full pipeline—from identifying and qualifying opportunities with mobile operators and financial institutions to closing high-value partnership deals and managing complex RFP processes. The position demands someone with a proven track record of exceeding aggressive revenue targets in digital lending or fintech, with the commercial instincts to negotiate complex agreements, customize solutions for different market segments, and build lasting relationships with C-level stakeholders.

The day-to-day spans business development strategy, sales execution, and account management. You'll conduct discovery with prospects to understand their needs, position Ezra's product suite (Airtime Credit Services, Nano, and BNPL) competitively, develop tailored proposals, and coordinate product demonstrations for enterprise clients. You'll also gather market intelligence, feed product feedback to the internal team, and identify cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts. This is a high-velocity role suited to someone with at least 10 years of commercial experience in fintech, banking, telecom, or financial services—ideally with a strong network across the regional ecosystem and a documented history of driving exponential growth in emerging markets.

The role is based in-office in Malaysia and requires the ambition and execution focus to scale revenue across high-potential APAC jurisdictions for a company processing 21 million loan requests daily across 24 operations.
