About this role
Pacific Seafood's Westport facility is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep production running smoothly across their seafood processing plant. You'd be responsible for preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep—handling everything from minor plumbing and electrical work to learning the operation and troubleshooting of production equipment. The role emphasizes safety first, with responsibilities including remedying unsafe conditions, performing walk-throughs to spot problems, and communicating closely with machine operators and supervisors to minimize downtime.
This position suits someone with at least two years of maintenance experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. While the job description lists it as primarily sedentary with occasional standing and walking, the reality involves working in a warehouse and plant environment with exposure to wet, cold, and humid conditions, alongside heavy machinery and moderate noise. You'd occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. Preferred qualifications include technical certifications in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical work, plus experience with boilers, ammonia systems, and forklift operation.
The role offers a competitive total compensation package in the $27–32k range, supplemented by health insurance, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company profit sharing, paid time off, and an employee assistance program. You may be on call as needed, and the position is full-time and based in-office in Westport, Connecticut.
