eTelligent Group (eTel) | Washington, DC Metro (DMV residents only)

Hunters only.

We’re not looking for someone to babysit a pipeline. We want a closer who wakes up wanting to win, opens doors nobody else can, and gets a charge out of turning a first meeting into a signed deal.

eTel is a fast-growing federal IT company with a strong foothold at the IRS and a recent long-term prime contract win at NIH (DHHS), and deep expertise in API integration, Identity and Access Management (IAM/ICAM), Zero Trust, and secure modernization. Now we’re going after new agencies, and we need someone to lead the charge.

Why eTel

  • Stock Appreciation Rights in a PE backed firm (Stock equity and ownership upside)
  • Competitive base plus performance incentives that reward winning.
  • A direct line to leadership, with no layers between you and decisions.
  • The chance to build something and see your fingerprints on the company’s growth.
  • Competitive benefits and real career growth.

What you’ll do

  • Break into new agencies. Treasury, HHS (NIH,CMS, CDC, FDA), DOW, DHS/CISA, VA, USDA, SSA, Commerce. Pick your targets, build the plan, and go get them.
  • Grow what we have. Expand our footprint at IRS and NIH.
  • Be in the market every day. Meet program offices, CIO/CISO teams, small business offices, and primes. Find the deals before the RFP drops.
  • Own the deal end to end. Find it, qualify it, build the teaming, shape the solution, and hand a winnable pursuit to proposals.
  • Make the call. Bring leadership sharp bid/no-bid recommendations, and know the difference between activity and real business.
  • Rally the team. Work hand in hand with leadership, technical, proposal, and delivery teams to win.

Your first 12 months

  • $20M in qualified pipeline across 3+ new agencies beyond IRS and NIH.
  • Real, active relationships at 2–3 new agencies.

You’re our person if you

  • Have 3+ years in federal BD, capture, or sales, ideally at a small or mid-sized federal IT firm.
  • Have opened new federal accounts yourself, not just grown existing ones.
  • Bring relationships at one or more civilian agencies or primes (tell us who in your application).
  • Know the federal buying cycle and the vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, GSA Schedules), and live in GovWin, SAM.gov, FPDS, and your CRM.
  • Run your own show. You don’t wait to be told what to chase.
  • Play well with others. You win with the team, not around it.
  • Care about the mission and want your work to make a real difference.

Bonus points: experience selling API, IAM/ICAM, Zero Trust, cyber, cloud, DevSecOps, data, or AI services; relationships at Treasury, HHS, DHS, or VA; ability to obtain a Public Trust.

Location: eTel HQ in Herndon, VA. This role is in person with customers and partners regularly, so we’re only considering candidates who already live in the DMV.

About this role

eTelligent Group is a federal IT contractor with deep roots at the IRS and a recent prime contract win at NIH, specializing in identity access management, API integration, and secure modernization. They're now expanding into new civilian agencies and need a sales leader to drive that growth. This role reports directly to leadership with no layers in between, and offers equity upside through a PE-backed ownership structure.

You'll own the full cycle of new business development—identifying targets across Treasury, HHS, DHS, CISA, VA, USDA, SSA, and Commerce, building relationships with program offices and CISOs, qualifying opportunities, and shepherding deals from discovery through a winnable proposal. You'll also deepen eTel's existing footprint at IRS and NIH. Success means delivering $20M in qualified pipeline across three or more new agencies and active relationships at two to three of them within your first year.

This is built for someone with three-plus years closing federal deals at small or mid-sized IT firms—not someone managing a pipeline, but a closer who has personally opened new accounts and knows the federal buying cycle, GovWin, SAM.gov, and the vehicles (IDIQs, GWACs, BPAs, GSA Schedules). You need existing relationships at civilian agencies or primes to bring to the table, and you must already live in the DMV and be willing to be in market regularly. Background in API, IAM, Zero Trust, cyber, or cloud services, plus relationships at Treasury or HHS, would strengthen your candidacy.
