About this role
Farnsworth Group is looking for an experienced electrical engineer to lead the design and delivery of building electrical systems across diverse project types—commercial, industrial, healthcare, institutional, and beyond. You'll own the full scope from concept through construction, handling power distribution, lighting controls, grounding, and related infrastructure. The work involves preparing technical calculations and construction documents, coordinating with architects and other disciplines to solve design challenges, and ensuring solutions meet code requirements, budgets, and constructability standards. You'll also support the team through construction administration, submittals, and site visits.
This role suits someone with 5–8+ years of building systems design experience, a PE license, and solid command of NEC codes and industry standards. You'll need hands-on proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, plus the judgment to balance competing priorities across multiple projects. Mentoring junior staff and contributing to project planning and scope development are part of the position, so leadership capability matters alongside technical depth. Experience with emergency power systems, photometric studies, or coordination analysis is valued but not required.
Farnsworth Group is a 650-person firm with 24 offices and an 11-year Great Place to Work certification. The Phoenix position is in-office, full-time, and includes a 401(k) with 100% company match up to 5%, comprehensive health coverage, professional development support, and a mentoring program. Some roles at the firm qualify for hybrid arrangements—worth asking about during recruitment.
