About this role
Farnsworth Group is looking for an electrical engineer to join their Phoenix office and contribute to the design of building electrical systems across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects. You'd work on core tasks like power distribution, lighting design, code compliance, and low-voltage systems—preparing drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, running calculations, and coordinating with other disciplines. This is a production-focused role where you'd develop technical judgment under the mentorship of senior engineers, moving from supporting design work toward greater ownership as you grow.
The position calls for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field and typically one to five years of building systems experience. You'll need solid knowledge of electrical distribution and building codes, proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD, and the ability to juggle multiple projects while communicating clearly with internal teams and clients. An FE/EIT certification or progress toward licensure is a plus, as is prior exposure to healthcare or higher-education facilities and familiarity with lighting or power analysis tools.
Farnsworth Group is a 650-person firm with 24 offices that has earned Great Place to Work certification for eleven consecutive years. The role is in-office in Phoenix and comes with a full benefits package including 401(k) matching up to 5%, medical and dental coverage, professional development support, and a mentoring program. The firm emphasizes work-life balance and diversity, though this particular position is not eligible for their hybrid work program.
