Description

Freelance Social Media Manager / Content Producer (Golf, TikTok & Instagram)

About the role

We’re looking for a golf-obsessed freelance content producer to run and grow a golf channel across TikTok and Instagram. You’ll own both accounts, combining fast, headline-style editorial videos with viral content sourced from across the golf world. The role is three days a week, so you’ll need to be organised: batching content on your working days and scheduling it so both channels post every day.

Engagement

  • Freelance, three days per week
  • Daily posting schedule across both platforms, managed through batching and scheduling
  • Day rate to be agreed, with the option to extend based on performance

What you’ll do

  • Run the TikTok and Instagram accounts end to end: planning, producing, scheduling and optimising content
  • Build and manage a content calendar so both accounts post daily, even on non-working days
  • Produce headline-style editorial videos: a bold on-screen headline over three story-relevant images or clips, around four seconds each, turned around quickly as stories break
  • Adapt content for each platform, from TikTok videos to Instagram Reels, Stories and carousels, so it feels native to where it’s posted
  • Find, verify and edit viral golf videos from around the world, from trick shots and tour moments to club-level chaos
  • Handle rights and clearances for third-party content, crediting and securing permission where needed
  • Spot trends, sounds and formats early and adapt them for golf
  • Track performance on each platform (views, watch time, shares, saves, follower growth) and use the data to refine what we make
  • Keep up with the news cycle across the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LIV, the majors and amateur golf
  • Check in on comments, DMs and community engagement on working days
  • Work with colleagues across editorial and commercial teams as needed

What we’re looking for

  • Strong working knowledge of golf: players, tours, storylines, equipment and golf culture
  • Proven experience running or growing TikTok and Instagram accounts, ideally in sport, news or entertainment
  • Confident video editor (CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar) who can produce polished work fast
  • Understanding of how content performs differently on TikTok and Instagram, and how to tailor it
  • Experience with scheduling tools and planning content ahead
  • A good instinct for what goes viral, and the judgement to know what’s worth posting
  • Sharp writing skills for punchy headlines and captions
  • Solid understanding of copyright, usage rights and platform guidelines
  • Ability to work to news deadlines, and to flag or react to big breaking stories even on non-working days where agreed
  • Comfortable with analytics and using data to shape decisions

Nice to have

  • Experience at a publisher, news brand or sports media outlet
  • Existing golf content portfolio or personal account
  • Experience with YouTube Shorts
  • Basic motion graphics or graphic design skills
  • A decent golf handicap, which is never a bad thing

What success looks like

  • Consistent daily output on both platforms with a recognisable tone and style
  • Steady growth in followers, views and engagement on TikTok and Instagram
  • Breaking and trending golf stories published quickly and accurately
  • A reputation for the channel as the go-to home for golf on short-form video

About this role

DMG::Media is seeking a freelance content producer to build and run golf-focused social channels across TikTok and Instagram. Working three days per week, you'll own both accounts end to end: planning and producing fast-turnaround editorial videos, sourcing and editing viral golf content from around the world, and scheduling daily posts even on your non-working days. The role demands strong organisational skills to batch content efficiently, sharp video editing ability, and a real instinct for what resonates on short-form platforms.

Success here requires deep golf knowledge—players, tours, storylines, the lot—combined with proven experience growing social accounts in sport, news or entertainment. You'll need confident video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar), a solid grasp of copyright and platform guidelines, and the ability to spot trends and react to breaking news quickly. The work is data-driven: you'll track performance metrics and use them to refine what you make, while keeping up with the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LIV and amateur golf across the news cycle.

This suits someone who's genuinely golf-obsessed, comfortable working to tight deadlines, and able to produce polished work at pace. Experience at a publisher, news brand or sports media outlet is valued but not essential; what matters most is demonstrating you can grow accounts and understand how content performs differently across platforms.
