The role centers on fusion splicing, cable termination, and verification testing across both aerial and underground networks. You'll work with cables up to 288 fibers, perform mid-span entries without service interruption, and use specialized equipment including OTDR testers, fusion splicers, and power meters to ensure quality installations and document results.

The position demands hands-on technical skill paired with careful documentation. Troubleshooting damaged fiber, reading and interpreting test data, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and customer safety standards are core to the job. Comfort working at heights and in confined spaces, along with a valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally, are essential.

One to three years of fiber optic telecommunications experience is required; formal fiber optic certification training is preferred but not mandatory. You'll need proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic color differentiation, and strong English communication skills.
