Description

What we’re doing isn’t easy. But nothing worth doing ever is.

At Diligent Robotics, we’re building a future where robots work alongside human teams. Our robot, Moxi, works in hospitals across the country delivering supplies, medications and lab samples so nurses and clinical staff can spend more time with patients. Join our mission-driven, venture-backed team and help bring Moxi robots to new hospitals.

Responsibilities:

The Field Application Specialist will get Moxi robots up and running in hospitals: set them up, teach them how to navigate facilities, train staff, and fix issues until the site is ready to go live.

  • Install, set up, and test Moxi robots at new and expanding hospital sites.
  • Map hospital floors and teach Moxi robots to use doors and elevators.
  • Support live fleets as sites grow and change, including map updates, adding robots and expanding to new units.
  • Diagnose and fix hardware and software issues, and escalate complex problems with clear, detailed tickets.
  • Monitor robots during launches and keep implementation tasks on schedule.
  • Train hospital staff and leaders on working with Moxi robots, and build trust with nursing, pharmacy, lab and facilities teams.
  • Follow customer issues through to resolution and act as the customer’s advocate inside Diligent.
  • Share field feedback with Engineering and Product to improve Moxi robots, including support for new integrations.
  • Support network and site surveys for prospective and newly signed hospitals.
  • Write and update training materials, user guides and procedures that make launches faster and repeatable.
  • Provide on-call support before or after hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software, with no hesitation to open equipment to diagnose issues when necessary.
  • Hands-on Linux terminal experience (command line, reading logs); coding or scripting is a plus.
  • Confidence explaining technical topics to diverse audiences of varying technical understanding, including clinical staff, facility teams, and hospital leadership.
  • Comfort working on your own in a busy, unpredictable environment and juggling priorities with little supervision.
  • Able to collaborate and support teammates, maintaining strong cross-functional teamwork when needed.
  • Healthcare or hospital experience is a plus, not a requirement.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • A technical background, whether through a degree, certification or hands-on work in areas like field service, IT/networking, electronics or robotics.
  • Up to 50% travel, often Monday–Friday, with occasional weekends.
  • A flexible schedule, including some nights, weekends and holidays, and before- or after-hours on-call support during launches.
  • Valid US driver’s license.
  • Ability to meet and maintain hospital vendor credentialing (e.g., drug screen, immunizations, background check).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods across large hospital campuses, and to lift up to 40 lbs.

Benefits

  • flexible schedule

About this role

Diligent Robotics is deploying autonomous robots into hospitals to handle supply and sample delivery, freeing up clinical staff for patient care. As a Field Application Specialist, you'd be the person who makes that happen on the ground—installing Moxi robots at hospital sites, mapping their routes through facilities, training staff to work alongside them, and troubleshooting both hardware and software issues until everything runs smoothly. You'd own the full lifecycle from setup through launch, then continue supporting sites as they expand or encounter new challenges.

This role demands hands-on technical depth. You need solid troubleshooting skills across hardware and software, comfort working in Linux from the command line, and the ability to diagnose and fix problems independently. Equally important is the ability to translate technical concepts for people with no robotics background—nurses, pharmacy teams, facilities managers, and hospital leadership all need to understand and trust the system. You'll be working alone much of the time in unpredictable hospital environments, so self-direction and adaptability matter as much as technical chops.

The job requires travel up to 50% of the time, flexibility around your schedule including occasional nights and weekends, and the physical capacity to walk large campuses and handle equipment up to 40 pounds. A background in field service, IT, electronics, or robotics is valuable; healthcare experience is helpful but not required. You'll need a valid driver's license and the ability to pass hospital credentialing requirements.
