About this role

Life360 is building out its advertising business across its family of consumer apps and devices, and this role sits at the center of that expansion. As Commercial Counsel for Advertising, you'd own the legal infrastructure for the company's programmatic, direct, and self-service ad platforms—drafting and negotiating the full spectrum of ad tech agreements, from supply-side publisher deals to demand-side DSP contracts and advertiser insertion orders. You'd also handle content licensing, data processing agreements under frameworks like CCPA and GDPR, and related procurement work. The position requires translating legal requirements into practical guidance for cross-functional teams while building the templates and playbooks that let Life360 close deals efficiently without exposing the company or its 102 million users to unnecessary risk.

This is a business-focused role that demands both technical depth in ad tech contracting and the ability to collaborate across Ads, Sales, Privacy, Product, and Engineering. You'd need at least five years of experience negotiating digital advertising agreements, ideally at a law firm or in-house at an ad tech, media, or technology company, plus a J.D. and bar membership. The work involves staying current with advertising and privacy law developments and industry standards while balancing aggressive deal timelines against legal risk—a skill set that rewards lawyers who can move fast without cutting corners.

The role reports to the Deputy General Counsel and offers a $163,000–$237,500 salary range plus equity and benefits, with full remote flexibility across the US. It's a chance to shape how a scaled consumer business approaches ad tech from the ground up, working alongside a collaborative legal team on transactions that matter to the company's growth.
