About this role

Dallas ISD is seeking a Facility Attendant to manage operations at the Jesse Owens Complex, a position that blends supervisory responsibility with hands-on facility maintenance. You would oversee assigned staff while ensuring the building and grounds meet maintenance standards, operate HVAC systems, conduct daily inspections for damage and safety concerns, and handle minor repairs in carpentry, plumbing, and painting. The role also includes procuring supplies, maintaining detailed records of maintenance work and staffing, and managing emergency response protocols.

Beyond routine facility care, this position supports the district's broader operations by setting up for graduations, external rentals, district meetings, and athletic events—including field setup to UIL standards and logistical support for teams and coaching staff. You'll need at least four years of direct facility maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record. HVAC certification or advanced MEP knowledge is preferred. Success in this role depends on strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to work effectively with principals, department heads, and coworkers, and reliability in handling both routine tasks and unexpected problems.

This is a full-time position based at the Jesse Owens Complex in Dallas, scheduled for 260 days annually. You must pass the district's random drug screening to be considered.
