About this role
LG Energy Solution Arizona is hiring an Industrial Hygiene Specialist II to manage occupational health and safety across their lithium-ion battery manufacturing and recycling operations in Queen Creek. You'd own the full spectrum of hazard identification and control—from assessing exposure to metals like lithium and cobalt, to designing engineering and administrative controls, to ensuring OSHA compliance and maintaining exposure records. The role demands someone who can move fluidly between the manufacturing floor, lab, and office, conducting air sampling and incident investigations while staying current on emerging risks in battery technology.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or a related field and brings at least three years of hands-on experience in manufacturing or chemical processing, ideally with battery production. You'll need solid grounding in OSHA regulations, ACGIH guidelines, and exposure assessment methods, plus practical familiarity with industrial hygiene instruments. A CIH certification is preferred or should be in progress. Beyond technical chops, this role requires strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with engineering and operations teams on process design and to train employees on safe practices.
This is a full-time, in-office position where you'll work in a fast-growing company at the forefront of EV battery technology. If you thrive on detail-oriented work, data-driven problem-solving, and a genuine commitment to worker protection in a complex manufacturing environment, this role offers both technical depth and the chance to shape safety culture at scale.
