About this role
Working as a Creative Services intern at WMUR puts you inside a television station's promotional engine during a formative summer. You'll move beyond theory into hands-on work—writing topical copy for newscasts and special segments, shadowing editing sessions, and participating in shoots both in-studio and in the field. The role offers genuine exposure to how a broadcast Creative Services department operates, from the strategy behind station branding to the mechanics of turning news stories into compelling promotional content across broadcast and digital platforms.
This internship suits someone interested in television production, marketing, or broadcast journalism who wants to understand how stations promote their content and connect with audiences. You'll develop practical writing and communication skills while learning the full scope of what a Creative Services team does, including their role in producing public service announcements. The in-office placement in Manchester means you'll be embedded in a working newsroom environment where you can observe real newscasts and the editorial process firsthand.
