About this role

KOAT in Albuquerque is looking for an Investigative Producer who can sustain a high-volume output of original investigative journalism. You'll produce multiple pieces weekly for broadcast and digital platforms, working closely with reporters and news management to develop stories that require deep research, court records knowledge, and strong local expertise. The role demands strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines while maintaining rigorous accuracy and ethical standards—copy editing, fact-checking, and legal review are central to the work.

This position suits someone with solid newsroom experience who thrives on breaking stories and isn't satisfied with surface-level reporting. You'll need professional writing and journalism credentials, familiarity with court systems and local politics, and the creative vision to present complex information compellingly across multiple platforms. Flexibility is essential, particularly during breaking news, and the job requires in-person presence in Albuquerque.

Hearst offers standard broadcast industry benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and paid parental leave, along with emotional wellness support and additional family-focused benefits.
