About this role
GO Tutor Corps is seeking a Fellow Lead to work within Stamford Public Schools for the 2026–2027 academic year, starting either November 2026 or January 2027 and running through June 2027. This is an AmeriCorps position that combines direct tutoring with leadership responsibilities across five school sites: Rippowam MS, Dolan MS, Turn of River MS, Westhill HS, and Stamford HS.
The role splits between two core functions. You'll spend roughly 40 percent of your time providing high-dosage tutoring in Math and ELA to small, consistent student groups, preparing lessons in advance and serving as a mentor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. The remaining time involves leading and coaching other AmeriCorps Fellows: observing their instruction, providing feedback, modeling effective teaching and relationship-building, supporting their onboarding, and advocating for their needs. You'll also act as a liaison between school leadership and the Fellows, participate in weekly check-ins, help with curriculum planning, and facilitate professional development conversations.
The position includes a living allowance and a stipend of $2,000 to $4,000 depending on your start date, paid upon successful completion of the full service term through June 25, 2027. You'll need to meet AmeriCorps requirements including submitting timely paperwork, maintaining service records, completing National Days of Service projects, and participating in program surveys and exit processes. This role suits someone with tutoring or teaching experience who is ready to take on peer mentorship and can work across multiple school sites in an in-office capacity.
