Description

Hi there, we’re Article. 👋  Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as a Project Manager, you'll drive a variety of high-impact operational and investment projects across Article, from product commercialization to tech upgrades, to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.

Why We Need You:

In the PMO team, we need a proactive driver to lead end-to-end project planning, execution, and issue resolution across cross-functional initiatives. This fits into our larger need to continuously optimize our internal operating model and project delivery pathways, ensuring our business scales smoothly while keeping customer obsession at the heart of everything we do.

Within the first few months, you’d establish trusted delivery partnerships with internal stakeholders, bring structure to ambiguous initiatives, and leverage our project management frameworks and Wrike to maintain real-time visibility into project health. In a year, you’ll be proud to say you’ve successfully delivered key cross-functional projects on time and in full, built resilient root-cause prevention pathways, and helped refine PMO governance processes to cut down low-value administrative overhead.

About the PMO team:

You’ll be joining our dynamic PMO team, reporting directly to the Manager. We operate as consultative internal delivery partners across Article, embedding directly with project owners in Product Development, Digital Merchandising, Technology/Engineering, and Operations. Through our structured service model, we guide stakeholders from initial project scoping, cost estimation, and service-level agreements to active replanning, root-cause diagnostics, and workflow automation using tools like Wrike.

We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be part of a collaborative PMO team partnering across key functions—including Product, Digital Merchandising, Tech, and Operations, etc. to solve complex cross-functional challenges and deliver strategic business initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and closure for cross-functional investment and operational projects (e.g., new product introductions, digital merchandising initiatives, tech investments, and annual planning) to ensure on-time, in-full completion.
  • Establish and maintain trusted delivery partnerships with internal customers and suppliers across the organization.
  • Deliver expert consultation on project initiation, scope definition, deliverables, costs, service levels, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Proactively detect upstream delays early to prevent and mitigate unexpected timeline slippage.
  • Execute rapid root-cause analyses when issues arise, leading replanning efforts and corrective action plans with internal teams.
  • Assess and mitigate project risks early, constructively challenging assumptions and managing trade-offs across schedule, scope, and resources.
  • Maintain real-time visibility into project health, milestones, and variance metrics using Wrike to keep stakeholders informed with actionable data.
  • Conduct post-project retrospectives to capture lessons learned and continuously improve PMO best practices.
  • Leverage Article's OS2 framework and tools to help internal functions optimize day-to-day operations.
  • Deliver continuous-improvement initiatives that simplify, automate, and refine PMO tools and governance processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 2–5 years of project management experience across diverse domains (e.g., product commercialization, physical product lifecycle, tech upgrades, or operating transformation).
  • Exceptional communicator with strong emotional intelligence and adaptability, skilled at influencing without authority to align cross-functional teams and resolve friction constructively.
  • Highly analytical with a sharp eye for data and trend monitoring, utilizing variance metrics, milestones, and project tracking to spot patterns and guide proactive decision-making.
  • Skilled in systems thinking with a proven ability to bring structure to ambiguous, non-templated projects where playbooks do not yet exist.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall), tools, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while navigating complex dependencies.
  • Advanced problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to constructively challenge friction points and align cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with project management software (e.g., Wrike, MS Project) and operational frameworks.
  • A goal-oriented, relentless drive to push initiatives across the finish line with continuous improvement and customer-obsessed mindsets.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project/Operations Management, or a related field (preferred), along with PMP, Agile, Lean, or Change Management certifications (considered an asset).

About this role

Article's PMO team is looking for someone to shepherd high-stakes projects from conception through delivery—whether that's launching new furniture lines, rolling out tech infrastructure, or restructuring internal operations. You'd work across Product, Engineering, Digital Merchandising, and Operations, acting as a trusted delivery partner who brings clarity to ambiguous initiatives, spots risks early, and keeps stakeholders aligned on what's actually happening in real time. The role demands someone equally comfortable with spreadsheets and difficult conversations: you'll need to read variance data, challenge assumptions constructively, and guide teams through replanning when things slip.

This is a fit if you have two to five years managing diverse projects (product launches, tech implementations, operational transformations) and you're genuinely skilled at influencing people across functions without formal authority. You should be analytical enough to spot patterns in project health metrics, systems-minded enough to build structure where none exists, and pragmatic about trade-offs between scope, schedule, and resources. Familiarity with Wrike or similar tools and grounding in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies matters. A degree in business or operations and a PMP or Agile cert would strengthen your candidacy, though they're not deal-breakers.

Article offers $92,000–$107,000 depending on your background, plus a 4% RRSP match, performance bonuses tied to company goals, 15 vacation days, extended health coverage, and hybrid flexibility (three days in Vancouver's office, ability to work remotely globally for up to three weeks). You'd report to the PMO Manager and work in a structured but collaborative environment designed to keep the company scaling without losing its customer focus.
