Description
About Us: EvolutionIQ’s mission is to deliver state of the art technology that helps insurance claims teams make claims handling more accurate, fair, and efficient, so that more people impacted by injury or illness can continue their lives with dignity and stability. We are currently experiencing massive growth and to accomplish our goals, we are hiring world-class talent who want to help build and scale internally, and transform the insurance space. Our team is our #1 priority, and we have been named one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces 3 years in a row and Built In’s Best Places to work in 2025 and 2026!
As the Director, Data Insights, you will be the primary bridge between our technical depth and our most critical business decisions. You aren't just managing data; you are managing influence. Your mission is to translate complex data signals into persuasive business narratives that change how our internal leaders and external partners operate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive Advisory: Serve as the "Data Voice" in the room for high-stakes meetings with C-suite executives and external stakeholders. You will defend findings, negotiate priorities, and provide real-time strategic counsel.
- Narrative Design: Take the raw output from our data science and engineering teams and synthesize it into "Board-ready" presentations that drive multi-million dollar decisions.
- Culture Transformation: Act as a change agent to move the organization from "data-aware" to "data-driven." You will challenge existing business assumptions and push for evidence-based pivots.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Navigate conflicting interests between departments (e.g., Sales vs. Product) by using data as the objective "source of truth" to build consensus.
- Value Realization: Work closely with the data team to ensure their technical roadmap is strictly aligned with the highest-value business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Strategic Pedigree: Proven experience leading high-level discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Data Fluency: While you may not be coding daily, you have a deep understanding of data science workflows, analytics engineering, and statistical significance.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional ability to visualize data and craft compelling slide decks or memos for executive audiences.
- Business Acumen: A deep understanding of how businesses make money and how data can be used to optimize those levers.
- A Modern Day Individual Contribitor: Can leverage agentic tools to do quick analytics as needed for high pressure leadership discussions.
Work-life, Culture & Perks:
- Compensation: The base salary range is $250-280K, with flexibility depending on a candidate’s background and experience. An annual bonus plan and company equity plan (RSUs) are also included in our compensation package.
- Well-Being: Medical, dental, vision, short & long-term disability, life insurance and AD&D, and 401k matching. Additional family, wellness, and pet benefits.
- Home & Family: Paid time off and sick leave, 100% paid parental leave (16 weeks for primary caregivers and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers). We offer a flexible schedule for new parents returning to work.
- Office Life: Catered lunches, happy hours, pet-friendly spaces, and monthly technology stipend.
- Growth & Training: $1,000/year for each employee for professional development, as well opportunities for tuition reimbursement.
- Sponsorship: We are open to sponsoring candidates currently in the U.S. who need to transfer their active visa. Please check with our Recruiting team if your visa is applicable for transfer.

About this role
At EvolutionIQ, this role sits at the intersection of data science and executive leadership—you'll be the person who translates what the data team uncovers into the narratives that shape million-dollar business decisions. This isn't a position focused on running analyses yourself; instead, you'll spend your time in high-stakes meetings with C-suite executives and external partners, defending findings, challenging assumptions, and using data as the objective foundation for consensus-building across departments. You'll also work closely with the data and engineering teams to ensure their technical roadmap stays aligned with the organization's highest-value outcomes.
The role demands someone with proven experience leading strategic discussions at senior levels, a deep understanding of data science workflows and statistical rigor, and exceptional communication skills—particularly the ability to turn complex data into compelling executive presentations. You should have strong business acumen and know how to optimize the levers that drive revenue. While you won't be coding daily, you'll need to be comfortable using analytical tools to pull quick insights when leadership is under pressure, and you'll serve as a change agent pushing the organization toward genuinely data-driven decision-making rather than just data awareness.
EvolutionIQ offers a base salary of $250–280K plus bonus and equity, comprehensive health and family benefits including 100% paid parental leave, and a strong workplace culture—they've been recognized as one of Inc.'s Best Workplaces for three consecutive years. The position is full-time and in-office in New York City.
