About this role

Excel Sports Management's Brand Marketing internship offers hands-on exposure to sports agency work across client relationship management, event coordination, and sponsorship activation. Over the spring semester (January through May 2027), you'll work roughly 24–30 hours per week, spending about three days in the Charlotte office and the rest remotely. The role centers on supporting the Brand Marketing team with research, contract negotiation, event planning logistics, and client deliverables—learning how the agency coordinates marketing appearances, builds sponsorship activations, and maintains the partnerships that drive business growth.

The work spans both strategic and operational ground. You'll assist with pitching new clients, analyzing market opportunities, and developing creative platforms for sponsorship engagement, while also handling the detailed coordination: creating rooming lists, transportation manifests, event itineraries, and status tracking documents. You'll gain insight into negotiation and contract execution, event branding, and the day-to-day client interaction that keeps deals moving. The internship also includes cross-divisional exposure through lunch-and-learns, giving you a broader view of how a sports agency operates.

To qualify, you must have completed your junior year of undergrad, be in graduate school, or already hold a degree. The position pays $15 per hour and does not offer visa sponsorship. You're responsible for your own transportation and housing in Charlotte. Applications close November 20, 2026, with offers expected in early December.
