About this role
Astrolab is building the hardware and systems for sustained lunar operations, and this role sits at the operational heart of that mission. As Operations Engineer, you'd own the manufacturing execution system (MES) for the facility—managing everything from user feedback and system configuration to site-wide rollout and team training. You'd work across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering to identify where the MES creates friction, then drive improvements that make the system easier to use and more integrated with how operations actually works. The position reports to the Director of Quality & Reliability and demands someone comfortable moving between technical system work and organizational change management.
The ideal candidate has at least five years in industrial or manufacturing engineering, data analytics, or a related field, with hands-on experience in ERP, MES, or similar systems. You'd need strong analytical skills—ideally with SQL, Power BI, or statistical tools like Minitab—and the ability to translate complex data into insights that resonate across all levels of the organization. Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing is valued; familiarity with process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is a plus. A STEM degree is required.
This is a full-time, in-office role in Hawthorne, Nova Scotia, with a salary range of $120,000 to $200,000. Benefits include equity ownership, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) matching, flexible PTO, and on-site perks like weekly lunch stipends and monthly social hours.
