About this role

CP Group, the largest office landlord in Florida and a major commercial real estate operator across the Sunbelt, is seeking a Chief Engineer for its Miami property. This role leads the engineering operations of a significant asset, overseeing all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems while directing and mentoring the Building Engineers team. You'd own both the day-to-day reliability of building systems and the strategic planning side—developing budgets, capital improvement plans, and preventive maintenance programs that keep the property running at peak efficiency and protect its value.

The position demands someone with at least 10 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining commercial building systems, a Universal CFC certification, and solid knowledge of HVAC, boilers, energy management systems, and building automation platforms. Beyond technical expertise, you'll need strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset to manage vendor relationships, coordinate with the property management team, handle tenant requests diplomatically, and respond decisively to emergencies. The role requires regular physical work—climbing, lifting 50+ pounds, and working with equipment—as well as the ability to prioritize competing urgent repairs and keep accurate records.

This is an in-office, full-time position based in Miami. It suits someone who thrives taking ownership of complex building operations, leading a team, and balancing immediate maintenance needs with long-term asset strategy.
